A group of Ukrainian MPs who arrived in Cyprus at the invitation of the Embassy of Ukraine for an official visit, together with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Cyprus, Dr. Sergiy Nizhynskyi, took part in interparliamentary work on several strategic issues for Ukraine:

- Intensification of intergovernmental relations;

- Recognition of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as a Genocide by the Parliament of Cyprus;

- Security issues;

- Transport connections;

- Logistical issues;

- Postal services;

- Broadcasting of Ukrainian channels and rebroadcast of Ukrainian radio.

The delegation also held a meeting with the Mayor of Nicosia, Charalambos Prountzos, and the Deputy Mayor of the Nicosia municipal district, Chrysanthos Fakas.

During the meeting, the delegates walked through the historic part of the city and along the Green Line.

The visit provided an opportunity to discuss cooperation and strengthen ties between Ukraine and Cyprus.
