On the 04th of September 2010 the Ambassador of Ukraine in the Republic of Cyprus paid his visit to Pafos, one of the largest cities of Cyprus, in order to hold meeting with representatives of the Pafos Chamber of Commerce and Industry. From the Cypriot Side the President of the Pafos Chamber Mr. George Leptos and members of the Pafos Chamber, as well as Vice President of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Cyprus Mr. Illias Miriantus (total – 12 persons) have taken part in the meeting.

During the meeting the two Sides have discussed ways of deepening of bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Cyprus. In particular, the Cypriot Side has proposed to establish direct bilateral relations with the Ukrainian regional chambers of commerce and to sign the relative agreements on cooperation.

The Cypriot Side has expressed the readiness to receive in September-December this year a delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine, consisting also of representatives of the Ukrainian regional chambers. Cypriot businessmen are ready also to pay their visit to Ukraine.

From his side, the Ambassador of Ukraine has briefed on trade and economic potential of Ukraine and underlined importance of further development of the bilateral Ukrainian-Cypriot trade and economic cooperation, which is mutually beneficial for the both Sides. The Cypriot Side was also briefed on economic and internal situation in Ukraine.
