On February 26, 2016, at the Apostle Mark Cathedral in Nicosia a memorial event to commemorate the heroes of Ukraine named Heavenly hundred, who were brutally killed during the Revolution of Dignity by than president‘s Yanukovych regime, was held.
All, who were present in the Cathedral, lighted the candles in memory of the heroes, who gave their lives on Maidan for Ukraine’s democracy and well-being.
In his address, the Ambassador of Ukraine Borys Humeniuk draw attention to the tragic events of February 2014 in Kyiv and stressed that the heroism of the Heavenly Hundred reflects the unbroken desire of the Ukrainian people for freedom, independence and better future for its children.
Before the memorial service the Father Paraskevas addressed to the present Ukrainians and expressed his true condolences and support to the people of Ukraine. He also stressed that those values that Ukrainians were protecting during the Revolution of Dignity are being protecting by all the Saint of this Cathedral.
