Today, on September 27, 2025, Nicosia brought together Ukrainians in Cyprus for a historic first community congress of such scale in the capital! From Paphos, Larnaca, Limassol, and all corners of the island, Ukrainians gathered to meet with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine in the Republic of Cyprus, Sergii Nizhynskyi, to discuss key issues: consular services, support for NGOs, funding for cultural and educational projects, and preserving Ukrainian identity.
Thank you for your energy, ideas, and unity!
Key outcomes of the meeting:
Petition to the Cyprus Parliament regarding the recognition of the Holodomor of 1932–1933 as a genocide of the Ukrainian people. Support it with your signatures and spread the word to honor the memory of the victims and achieve justice!
Petition for the retransmission of Ukrainian Radio in Cyprus. Join in to make our language and culture resonate louder!
Quarterly community meetings — we agreed to gather regularly to strengthen ties and work on preserving Ukrainian culture.
Ambassador Sergii Nizhynskyi presented 10 priorities of the Ambassador’s work: from improving consular services to supporting Ukraine in matters of defense (air defense, weapons) and organizing high-level visits. We are grateful to Cyprus for its solidarity with Ukraine’s fight for freedom and sovereignty!
Thank you to everyone who joined us! We call on Ukrainians in Cyprus to stay active, engage in initiatives, and together build a strong community. Stay tuned for announcements — new projects are coming!
Glory to Ukraine!
