Today, at the invitation of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Cyprus, Dr. Sergii Nizhynskyi, a meeting was held at the premises of the Embassy of Ukraine with colleague-diplomats — true friends of Ukraine — in response to the urgent need to address the emergency situation in Ukraine.

During the meeting, the key challenges facing Ukraine were discussed, in particular the critical situation in the energy system and the urgent need for additional assistance to restore and stabilize it.

Special emphasis was placed on the importance of Ukraine's active presence and voice during Cyprus's presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2026. This represents a unique window of opportunity to advance our common interests, accelerate European integration processes, and strengthen support for Ukraine at the European level.

Plans for joint cultural diplomacy initiatives were also discussed — projects that will help introduce Ukraine even better to Cypriot society, its history and unbreakable spirit.

Most importantly — our partners once again confirmed: Ukraine is not alone.
