The bishops of the European Union gathered to consider the current situation in regions where military conflicts are ongoing and to reflect on the role that the Catholic Church can play in promoting peace.

With Ambassador Dr.Sergii Nizhynskyi, the church representatives discussed the creation of an official statement on behalf of COMECE condemning the abduction of Ukrainian children by the Russian Federation. The statement will be made by the end of the Assembly on April 24.
