On December 17, 2020, the official ceremony of the Presentation of Credentials by His Excellency, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Ruslan Nimchynskyi to His Excellency, President of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Nicos Anastasiades took place.

In his welcoming speech, the Ambassador thanked the President of the Republic of Cyprus for Cyprus’ stable support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and the European integration of our State.

Speaking about Ukraine-Cyprus bilateral relations, the Ambassador noted that since the establishment of the diplomatic relations between our countries, the bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Cyprus has been developing steadily in an atmosphere of friendship, mutual support, and mutual understanding.

Today, despite current global challenges, our political dialogue is evolving in various fields which provides a wide range of prospects and opportunities for the development and strengthening of future mutually beneficial cooperation.

Summing up, the Ambassador stressed that he was ready and determined to continue to work tirelessly with the leadership, the Government, and People of the Republic of Cyprus in order to further strengthen our friendship and partnership for the prosperity of the two States.

In his turn, H.E., President of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Nicos Anastasiades noted that the relations between Cyprus and Ukraine are guided by common values, our mutual adherence to the principles of peace and democracy, as well as our joint commitment to the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity of our States.

Particular attention, the President of Cyprus paid to the Ukrainian community of Cyprus and its significant contribution as well as active interpersonal contacts between the two peoples, which contribute to the strengthening of bilateral relations and cultural and social exchange between the two countries.
