Government adopts a number of resolutions on temporarily restrict the border crossing into and out of Ukraine

The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers adopted a number of resolutions on temporarily restrict the border crossing into and out of Ukraine, aimed at preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus in Ukraine:
- from 13.03.2020 № 288-r “On temporary closure and termination of the pedestrian border crossing at some points on the state border and checkpoints”;
- from 14.03.2020 № 287-r “On temporarily restricting the crossing of the state border aimed at preventing the spread of acute COVID-19 respiratory disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in Ukraine”;
- from 16.03.2020 No. 290-r “On amendments to the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on March 14, 2020 No. 287”.
According to the Cabinet’s decision, Ukrainian border crossings will be closed to all international passenger traffic (except for several categories of citizens) from midnight March 17 to April 3, 2020.
The exceptions are (the mode remains unchanged):
- carriage of persons for the protection of national interests or in connection with the fulfillment of international obligations;
- international freight traffic;
- transportation by private motor transport.
