Today, Larnaca marked the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine — a symbol of our unity, freedom and resilience.
The event was attended by the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of Ukraine in the Republic of Cyprus, Vladyslav Lomako, and First Secretary of the Embassy, Marko Skral.
The event was also attended by the Mayor of Larnaca Andreas Vyras, Deputy Mayor Iasonas Iasonides, representatives of the Ukrainian Cultural Centre “Obiimy” and members of the Ukrainian community of Larnaca.
A particularly symbolic moment was the unveiling of an updated information plaque by the Municipality of Larnaca at the Anchor Monument — a gift from the city of Odesa to Larnaca.
Since 2022, this place has become an important gathering point for the Ukrainian community in Larnaca. Ukrainians have gathered at the monument for rallies, commemorative events and national celebrations, demonstrating solidarity, support for Ukraine, and their commitment to preserving their national identity far from their homeland.
