Meeting of the Ambassador of Ukraine to Cyprus Mr. Borys Humeniuk with the Apostolic Delegate Archbishop Leopoldo Girelli

On July 23, 2018, the Apostolic Delegate to Cyprus Archbishop Leopoldo Girelli paid a courtesy visit to the Embassy of Ukraine and had a meeting with the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Borys Humeniuk, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Cyprus.
The meeting was held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere. During the meeting the situation in Ukraine related to Russian aggression, as well as the efforts of Ukrainian society to obtain the Tomos of the autocephaly of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church were discussed.
The Apostolic Delegate confirmed the Vatican's support for territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, expressed a positive assessment of the protection of the rights of religious communities in Ukraine and wished for a quick restoration of peace on the Ukrainian soil.
