On April 20, 2018 within the framework of the working visit of the delegation of the Prosecutor’s General Office of Ukraine to the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Yevhenii Yenin, the Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine met with Mr. Costas Clerides, Attorney General of the Republic of Cyprus.
The important issues of bilateral cooperation in the fields of international law enforcement activity were discussed during the meeting, particularly regarding the mutual legal assistance, assistance in the investigation and prosecution of international criminal offences, combating money-laundering, proceeds of crime and the financing of terrorism as well as extradition of persons accused or convicted of a crime. The Parties exchanged of experience in the field of cooperation with the Committee of Experts of the Council of Europe on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism (MONEYVAL) as well as on the implementation of the simplified procedure of mutual legal assistance in electronic form.
The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ms. Anzhela Stryzhevska, Ambassador of Ukraine in Cyprus Mr. Borys Humeniuk as well as by the corresponding attorneys and officers of the Law Office of Cyprus and the Unit for Combating Money Laundering (MOKAS).
