On September 6, 2017 Mr. Borys Humeniuk, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Cyprus had a meeting with Mr. Averof Neofytou, leader of the Cyprus parliamentary delegation to the International Parliamentary Union, the President of the political party Democratic Rally and the leader of the political group of the above mentioned party in the House of Representatives of Cyprus.
During the meeting the parties discussed a wide range of issues of the interparliamentary co-operation between Ukraine and the Republic of Cyprus, including issues of the Ukraine-Cyprus co-operation within the activity of the international organizations, particularly IPU Assembly, the next meeting of which will be held in Saint-Petersburg, Russia between 14 and 18 of October, 2017.
As a result, the parties agreed that participation of the so-called “members” of the State Duma of Russia who were “elected” on the temporarily occupied by Russia Ukrainian territory of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol at the next meeting of IPU Assembly and other international organizations is unacceptable.
