On June 21, 2017 the meeting between the Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Mr. Yevhenii Yenin and the Attorney General of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Costas Clerides took place in Nicosia.
During the meeting the parties discussed a wide range of issues of the bilateral co-operation in the fields of anti money laundering and counter terrorist financing activities.
Particularly, Mr. Yevhenii Yenin conveyed his appreciation to Mr. Costas Clerides and Mrs. Eva Rossidou-Papakyriakou, the head of MOKAS, for their kind help and assistance provided by them to a successful investigation of a number of criminal proceedings resulting by a recent decision of the Ukrainian court to return to the state budget of Ukraine approximately USD 1.5 billion of stolen assets.
Mr. Costas Clerides welcomed the above mentioned success of the Prosecutor’s General Office of Ukraine underlined his readiness to develop mutually beneficial bilateral co-operation with the law enforcement agencies of Ukraine.
During his visit to Cyprus, Mr. Yevhenii Yenin gave an interview to the journalist of the Politis Newspaper Yiannis Ioannou.
