During the meeting the current state of cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Cyprus, enhancing bilateral political dialogue and the development of the legal base of Ukrainian-Cypriot relations were discussed. Ambassador Humeniuk thanked for Cyprus supporting the European aspirations of Ukraine, including visa-free regime with the EU.

Special attention was paid to the security situation in the East of Ukraine and the human rights situation in occupied Crimea. The Ambassador informed about non-compliance of Russia of the provisions of the Minsk agreements, continued supply of Russian armament and military personnel to Donbas, obstructing access of OSCE to the occupied territories, as well as daily shelling of positions of Ukrainian military forces in Donbas.

The Cypriot diplomat emphasized the consistent position of Cyprus’s support of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
