On February 16, 2016, in Famagusta UNFICYP Camp “General M.R.Stefanik” the Medal Parade ceremony of UNFICYP Sector 4 was held. The peacekeepers of Sector 4 were decorated with the bronze Medal of the United Nations peacekeeping force in Cyprus. The UNFICYP Medal was introduced in 1964 to recognize more than 90 days duty in Cyprus within the Mission in the service of peace in Cyprus.

During the Medal parade Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Borys Humeniuk handed the said Medals to two Ukrainian UN peacekeepers, who serve in Sector 4 along with representatives from Slovakia, Hungary and Serbia. The Armed Forces of Ukraine have served with the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus since 2013.

Overall during the event 71 soldiers of the Mission were awarded. Ambassador of Ukraine congratulated the peacekeepers with honorary award and stressed the importance of the UNFICYP work.
