On September 16, 2015 at the Embassy of Ukraine in Nicosia the working meeting of Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Borys Humeniuk and the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in the Republic of Cyprus (Limassol) Mr. Alexis Photiades was held.

During the meeting the current state of Ukrainian-Cypriot relations, prospects of Ukraine's European integration, particularly in the context of Cyprus ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, as well as the situation in Ukraine were discussed.

The key topic of the meeting was the establishment of the Ukrainian Sunday school in Cyprus. In this connection Mr. Photiades expressed a desire to facilitate the realization of this important initiative and his willingness to provide the premises of Honorary Consulate in Limassol for the needs of Ukrainians in order to conduct lessons for children.

At the present stage the Ukrainian community in Cyprus undertakes efforts to start the possibility of teaching Ukrainian language, literature, culture, traditions and history to the group of children of Ukrainians living in Cyprus, which in the future could expand into full-fledged Ukrainian Sunday school.
