During the event, the Ukrainian Folklore Ensemble “Promin” of the Mariupol State University performed Ukrainian and Greek songs and dances. Photo exhibition of famous Ukrainian photographers dedicated to Ukraine as well as video-material about Ukraine were presented during the evening. 

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus and the Ambassador of Ukraine addressed to the attendees of the event.

During his address to the guests, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Borys Humeniuk stressed, in particular, on the achievements of Ukraine on its path of independence, the efforts of the state leadership in implementation of reforms in key spheres of the country’s life, and drew attention to the ongoing Russian aggression against our country and commitment of Ukraine to peaceful settlement of the situation in the Donbass, including full implementation of the Minsk agreements. Ukrainian Ambassador also positively characterized Ukrainian-Cyprus cooperation and friendly relations between the two nations.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Ioannis Kasoulides stressed that official Nicosia continues to support the territorial integrity of Ukraine and supports the prompt de-escalation and stabilization of the situation in the East of Ukraine, as well as diplomatic solution to the crisis by peaceful means on the basis of principles and norms of international law. He also noted that the Republic of Cyprus will continue to actively support European integration of Ukraine, including by ratifying the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU and supporting the process of liberalization of the visa regime between Ukraine and the EU. H.E. Mr. Kasoulides emphasized the importance of political dialogue between Ukraine and the Republic of Cyprus, in particular the conduction of the official visit of the President of Cyprus Mr. Nicos Anastasiades to Ukraine.
