On February 24, a meeting with Volodymyr Mykolaienko took place in Nicosia at the Strovolos Municipal Theater, organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Cyprus in partnership with the Voice of Ukraine organization. Also speaking at the event were Dmytro Khylyuk, a journalist of the UNIAN news agency, who was also in Russian captivity, and Yulia Pavlyuk, head of the Central Regional Center of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners.

This meeting was expected by both the Ukrainian community in Cyprus and representatives of diplomatic corps, who devoted the entire week to special events in support of Ukraine.

At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Cyprus Sergii Nizhynskyi presented special thanks from the Embassy to the organization "Voice of Ukraine" and the speakers of the event.

After the official part of the event, people did not disperse for a long time, asking questions to the former head of the front-line Kherson - about endurance, thoughts in captivity, fears, hope and inner strength.
