On March 11, 2021, H.E., Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Ruslan Nimchynskyi met with H.E., Head of Representation of the European Commission in Cyprus Mr. Ierotheos Papadopoulos.

The parties exchanged views on topical issues of the regional and European agenda. Particular attention was paid to the security situation in Eastern Ukraine and the temporarily occupied Crimea.

The Head of the European Commission Mr. Papadopoulos was informed about Ukraine's initiative to launch the Crimean platform. During the meeting Ambassador Nimchynskyi stressed the critical importance of keeping the topic of de-occupation of the Ukrainian Crimea high on the agenda of international institutions, particulary the EU.

The Parties agreed to continue active cooperation between the two diplomatic missions, including with regard to implementation of certain joint initiatives in the near future.
