This week, a public policy panel discussion "Towards EU Enlargement: How to Support Democracy and the Rule of Law?" was held at the EU House in Nicosia. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Cyprus, Dr. Serhii Nizhynskyi, was invited to the dialogue.
The event, on the occasion of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU, was organized by the CRoLEV Center of Excellence on the Rule of Law and European Values at UCLan Cyprus and the REUNIR project.
Experts discussed the new security context in the modern world and how the European Union can expand while supporting and strengthening democracy and the rule of law at its core, when Member States and candidate countries are the objects of malicious foreign interference?
The event was attended by politicians, officials, diplomats, academics and think tanks.
