They discussed the preservation and restoration of Ukraine’s cultural heritage as well as the development of bilateral cooperation.
Tetyana Berezhna congratulated Cyprus on its presidency of the EU Council and thanked them for their support. She also spoke about the establishment of the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Fund — an international platform for mobilizing resources to protect and restore culture.
The Ukrainian Minister of Culture invited the Cypriot side to participate in the conference “Cooperation for Resilience.”
Cyprus invited Ukraine to join the informal meeting of EU Ministers of Culture in March, where key topics will include cultural rights and combating the illicit trafficking of cultural property.
Separately, the parties agreed to involve Ukrainian artists and filmmakers in leading cultural events in Cyprus and to establish direct contacts between institutions.
