On September 21, 2021, the Embassy of Ukraine to the Republic of Cyprus in cooperation with the University of Cyprus organised a Round table: “Crimea Platform: political and legal considerations”.

Opening the event, H.E., Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Ruslan Nimchynskyi, briefly informed participants about the aim of the Crimea Platform establishment, initiated by President of Ukraine Mr. Volodymyr Zelenskyy as well as focused on the key aspects and main tasks of this Initiative and on the Inaugural Crimea Platform Summit in Kyiv where more than 40 international partners participated at the highest and high levels.

In addition, the Ambassador stressed that the Crimea Platform Initiative is not only an international consultative platform for discussing problems of the temporary occupied sovereign territory of Ukraine - the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, but also it is an opportunity to exchange views and experience, in particular at the expert level, on other specific issues related to the current challenges and threats.

The main Speakers of the event were invited experts from Ukraine - Dr. Hanna Shelest, the Director of the Security Programmes at the Foreign Policy Council “Ukrainian Prism” and Dr. Yevgeniya Gaber, the foreign policy expert, Adviser to the Prime Minister of Ukraine on Foreign policy, who, in their turn, introduced all participants with the current developments and situation in Crimea and the Black Sea region as well as explained additional opportunities of the Crimea Platform.

The event was attended by participants from official, scientific, academic, and business circles, the diplomatic corps, media, and public.
