Today, on 29^th of May, we mark the International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers.

Ukraine has been an active participant in UN operations since 1992. Ukraine was among the initiators of the 1994 Convention on the Safety of United Nations and Associated Personnel, and in July 1995 it was one of the first countries to ratify it.

Ukraine is currently participating in six UN peacekeeping operations. More than 300 Ukrainian peacekeepers are carrying out duties across the globe.

At the moment eight Ukrainians take part in the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus. Ukrainian peacekeepers are among the best in the UNFICYP.
