09 February 2026 18:39

The memorial complex on the territory of the former hospital commemorates the 2,200 babies born here between 1946 and 1949, and those who survived and found temporary refuge on the island.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Cyprus, Sergii Nizhynskyi, attended the event and got acquainted with the memorial complex, expressing his support to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Cyprus, Oren Anolik, who emphasized in his speech that the concentration camps in Cyprus remain at the center of the personal stories and collective memory of many Israelis to this day.
