A memorable sign is installed on the Finikoudes promenade of Larnaca, a partner city of Odesa. This sculpture - a gift from Odesa to the Cypriot city - is the first such art object, set up outside Ukraine.

In his welcoming speech, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Cyprus Mr. Borys Humenyuk emphasized the remarkable significance of the event, which essentially marks a new stage in the development of multi-faceted relations between the two countries.

Mr. Andreas Vyras, Mayor of the city of Larnaca, and Mr. Hennadiy Trukhanov, Mayor of Odesa also noted the significance of this memorable sign as a symbol of friendship and unity, in order to deepen further cooperation between the two partner cities.

The opening ceremony was attended by members of the Municipal Council of the city of Larnaca, delegation of the Odesa City Council, residents of Larnaca, representatives of political circles and business, the public, as well as numerous guests of the event.

As part of the event, a joint concert was held with the participation of artists from Odesa and Larnaca - the Ukrainian opera singer Odette and the Cyprus dance group.
