On March 3, 2017, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Borys Humeniuk met with the Secretary-General of the Cyprus National Commission for UNESCO Mr. Pavlos Paraskevas
During the meeting the possibilities of intensification of cooperation between Ukraine and Cyprus in the framework of UNESCO were discussed. Sides also stressed on mutual support of the countries' efforts in preserving cultural heritage on temporarily occupied territories of both states.
Ambassador of Ukraine conveyed the Address of the National Commission of Ukraine for UNESCO adopted on February 7, 2017.
Special attention was paid to the present situation in Ukraine related to Russian aggression against Ukraine. Ambassador expressed appreciation for Cyprus' position of support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
