On September 4-6, 2016, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Mr. Yurii Lutsenko and the Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Mr. Yevhenii Enin paid two-days working visit to the Republic of Cyprus aimed at further development of mutually beneficial bilateral co-operation in the field of international crime combating.
During the above mentioned visit the members of the Ukrainian delegation had meetings with the Attorney General of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Costas Clerides, the Chief of the Unit for Combating Money Laundering (MOKAS) Mrs. Eva Rossidou-Papakyriacou, and the Minister of Justice and Public Order of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Ionas Nicolaou.
The parties had agreed to speed up the bilateral co-operation within the framework of the provisions of the Council of Europe Convention on Laundering, Search, Seizure and Confiscation of the Proceeds from Crime and on the Financing of Terrorism, Memorandum of Understanding between the Prosecutor’s General Office of Ukraine and the Law Office of the Republic of Cyprus as well as other bilateral agreements in force.
The working visit was widely covered by the Cypriot Mass-Media, particularly by the Sigma TV, Mega TV, “Phileleftheros”, “Cyprus Weekly”, “Sigma News” and others.
