The event was traditionally held in a friendly atmosphere of mutual understanding and mutual support, the photo materials related to the role of Ukraine and Ukrainians in this War were presented at the Embassy.

Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Borys Humeniuk, in his address to the guests, drew attention to the significant contribution of Ukrainians in the fight against Nazism as well to the losses suffered by Ukraine during the WWII. The Ambassador stressed on the considerable efforts of the Ukrainian people, who fought against fascism from the West more than 70 years ago and is struggling with brutal aggression from the East nowadays. He also wished prosperity to all Ukrainian People and peace to be reached on Ukrainian soil.
