Ukraine-Cyprus Double Taxation Treaty Consultations

On 2 July 2015 the Second Round of Ukraine-Cyprus consultations on the issue of amending the current Convention between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Cyprus for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with Respect to Taxes on Income took place in Nicosia.
The Ukrainian Delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Finance of Ukraine Mrs. Olena Makeieva, while the Cypriot Delegation was headed by the Commissioner of Taxation of Cyprus Mr. Yiannakis Lazarou.
The negotiations were conducted in a friendly atmosphere and a spirit of mutual understanding. As a result, the Parties had managed to reach a mutually beneficial agreement which will create an opportunity to the development of the Cyprus-Ukraine co-operation in the field of economy.
Within the framework of the working visit to Cyprus Mrs. Olena Makeieva had an official meeting with the Minister of Finance of Cyprus Mr. Harris Georgiades. During the meeting the Parties discussed a wide range of actual issues of mutual interest, particularly, issues of taxation of economic, trade and investment co-operation of the business communities of Ukraine and Cyprus. Mrs. Olena Makeieva and Mr. Harris Georgiades worked out possible ways of activation of economic activity between Ukraine and Cyprus.
