On October 23, 2025, an important meeting took place between the team of the Embassy of Ukraine, including the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Cyprus Sergii Nizhynskyi and Second Secretary for Cultural Affairs Nataliia Kuzakova, and the Head of the Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in the Republic of Cyprus Vassiliy Yuzhanin.

During the dialogue, the Ambassador of Ukraine emphasized the critical need to support the Ukrainian community, which currently counts over 33,000 people on the island. Key areas: ✅ Employment – creating equal opportunities for Ukrainians in the labor market;

✅ Healthcare – access to medical services without barriers;

✅ Education – integration of children into local schools;

✅ Learning Greek – programs for rapid adaptation and socialization.

In response, Vassiliy Yuzhanin informed about the IOM's "Action Plan," under which projects for integrating Ukrainians into Cypriot society will be developed and implemented.

The Head of Mission also reported that IOM has begun cooperation with the municipalities of Nicosia, Larnaca, and Limassol in the areas of education and healthcare for Ukrainians and other foreigners.

During the meeting, the Ambassador of Ukraine Sergii Nizhynskyi also highlighted the importance of:

Launching Ukrainian TV channels in Cyprus hotels – to maintain connection with the Homeland;

Learning Greek and supporting Ukrainian distance education programs;

Creating a hotline for prompt assistance;

Informational materials on combating human trafficking, domestic violence, and gender discrimination.

This is not just diplomacy – these are real steps toward a dignified life for Ukrainians abroad.
